Ross & Alan ....all the books I've consulted on Red-bellied Blacks list
frogs as their number one prey. Other snakes, mammals and birds are also
taken, but I don't believe the notion that they keep Brown snakes away. Just
come down to Lake Samsonvale (Brissy) and you'll see both in close
proximity!

Ross,
Perhaps you are thinking of the Black-headed Python which does prey mostly 
on other reptiles. While Red-bellied Blacks will eat herps, I believe that 
their diet is mostly warm blooded creatures.
