I guess it depends on the conditions of the contract - any operator can have
environmental conditions imposed upon them with suitable penalties to
encourage compliance - the question is whether the current Govt will
actually bother with such things.Otherwise the contract is bound to go to
the cheapest contractor who presumably will cut as many corners as possible
to make a profit on the deal - and that way lies environmental damage for
sure.
