Only in America would a local birding event be called "the World  
Series of Birding".  Similarly, only in a America would an academic  
argue that because birders go looking for birds at landfills and  
sewage treatment plants they are trivialising the environmental  
problems associated wtih waste disposal ...   You can read a write up
