Kevin,

I doubt anyone would have removed the tyre given where it is wedged in;-)

Just in case the pole is 32.8 km from the roundabout at the airport.

It is primarily a site for Rufous-crowned Emu-wren and Spinifexbird rather than Dusky Grasswren though!

There are DG's along the road, you just need to try some of the exposed rocky sections to the north of the road before the "tyre".

Emu Wren and Spin bird are found on both sides of the road at the tyre, walk along any of the small ridges north or south for a few hundred metres and you should be ok.

Simpson's Gap or the Ormiston Gorge and Pound Walk are the best bets for Dusky Grasswren although another good spot is the walk up Mt Gillen just past ASP Desert Park. Walk to the rocky areas near the top.

Good luck

Alan

Can anyone tell me whether the "tyre on the pole" on the Santa Teresa Road is still present - if not any info on grasswren sites there would be welcome, Kevin holwelll
