Black Swans do have their moments too. In the early '80s, while
visiting a nature reserve north of Wellington in NZ, I saw a 8-9 year
old boy receive a broken arm when a Black Swan he was teasing. The
swan, after being chased for some 5 minutes, turned and gave the lad a
crack on the arm with its wing. The parents of the boy then had the
hide to demand that the management put the swan down because of its
"vicious attack" on their poor little darling.

I have little experience with Black swans this was, only remember
that one
at one of your innumerable animal petting parks, which I visited
with my
small kids back in 1986, got mad at me and picked my glasses off my
nose,
thereby effectively disarming me.
