Dear All,

On the subject of buying 'scopes and binoculars, at the moment it is worth shopping around locally, as there are some good deals to be had by shopping around. Yesterday I bought a pair of Pentax 10x50 DCF ED binos and a Pentax 7mm 'scope eyepiece. The price for the two ended up a few dollars cheaper than the best price I could find on the net ex USA. This is taking into account the all up cost, including the retailers price, freight, customs fee, GST & shipping agents fees. On top of that, I have an Australian warranty and a retailer who is happy and who will look after me when I go back.

I have bough quite a bit of optical and photographic gear from OS via the net, in the past, but I am finding that it is often not worth the hassle of buying from the US.

I'm of to play with my new toys,

Cheers,
