Hi Folks,
The British Bird Fair is being held at Rutland Waters in the English
Midlands on August 21st,22nd & 23rd. There will be a display stand put
together by Queensland birdwatching tourism operators in conjunction
with Tourism Queensland and local tourism bodies. Also displaying in the
same area are representatives from Tasmania and Christmas island and,
hopefully, the NT.
If anyone on Birding-Aus is planning to be in the UK over August,
volunteers are needed to help on the stands. The importance of promoting
birdwatching tourism, has only just been taken up by some main stream
tourism bodies in the last few years. Of course, the more exposure
birding tourism receives, the better it is for birdwatching and bird
habitat conservation in Australia.
