Or someone less honest will get there first and keep them. I'd do that with a 
hat or a coat, but not binoculars.

Anyone who loses stuff like that should report it to the police, and anyone who 
finds it should too, and perhaps inquire here too. Nothing more can really be 
done, and it should usually be enough.
