Visited Bushell's briefly late morning 9 Mar on way up to Kurrajong. Waterfowl
numbers the lowest I’ve seen in last few years with only duck species recorded
being Blacks and under 20 in total (possible 3 Aust Shovellers in flight in
distance). Water levels are high again.  A flock of 135+ Little Black
Cormorants in very tight feeding formation was interesting. Also seen
White-necked Heron, Aust Goshawk, Whistling Kite. European Carp very visible at
the surface. Pelicans and Darters present in good numbers of 50 and 40 +
probably enjoying these. Zebra and Double-barred Finch and Nutmeg Mannikin
nearby. Large numbers of Rainbow Lorikeets in the area.
Wedge-tailed Eagle and Grey Goshawk both seen at Kurrajong Hills. Dollarbird
still present.
Nutmeg Mannikin flock of around 10 near Kurmond was the first time I have seen
these in the hills here.
