I forgot to mention that around Orange when the local bakery was open the
hobby farmers used to get trailer loads of old bread to feed there cattle.
The local bird population would know when it was feed time and have a snack.
The birds became too dependent on the bread and now the bakery has shut many
generations of birds have not been taught or forgotten how to catch a feed.

Also a couple of crust from a picnic sandwich or 1-2 slices is one thing.
I watched a woman at a local lake dump a 30-40kg size (not that weight of
bread of course!!) bag of bread one day. I have no idea if it is a regular
thing, daily ritual for her or what.
Like a person who used to dump 4l bucket of wheat for pigeons in a tiny
local mall
