These latest postings have made me feel guilty about not posting a sighting
I made on 4th Nov in the Royal National Park south of Sydney. On the rocks
around Wattamolla cove I found a dark looking Tattler which I was able to
get very close to by using rocks as a screen. The bird had a short
supercilium which did not extend past the eye and the wing tips noticeably
extended beyond the tail. The habitat and solitude of the bird are I suppose
suggestive of Wandering Tattler. Unfortunately as it was raining I did not
have my camera gear so I returned the next day but was unable to locate the
bird. If anyone wants to check it out be very careful on the rocks they are
very treacherous(especially at the start). The bird was on the left side as
you look out to sea and not that far from the beach.

Not this one, Laurie. The Wandering Tattler I photographed there recently is
on its first visit.
Either way, it doesn't hurt to remind other birders of their presence. I am
sure there are still one or two birdwatchers who haven't seen this species
yet.
