Periodically I read trip reports from overseas birders or tour companies 
visiting Australia.  Usually you can pick up a couple of claimed sightings that 
are best described as implausible.  And no doubt we all make the odd mistake 
when we are overseas.  Here's a good recent example - a tour company has just 
posted a report of a recent Australian tour and they casually say in relation 
to a day at Lamington NP "A fly by view of a pair of coxeni race Double-eyed 
Fig-Parrots was especially noteworthy, as this isolated southern population is 
now considered critically endangered" .
 
Oh well, the clients are home now with the bird ticked off, that's the 
important bit!!
