Hi folks

On the 11th of Oct I watched as a Brown Thornbill lined a nest (Dome, low down,
almost hidden in dead bracken on a bank side). I didnt see any further activity
(I pass about every second day) until the 19th when I had a peek from some
distance through my binoculars. I was surprised to see a Large-billed Scrubwren
sitting in the nest watching me with a steady large black eye. It was still
there on the 21st but gone today with no eggs or chicks.

I didnt check to see if there were old eggs under some lining - might do that
in due course if I see no activity.

Ive seen LBSW's attempt a takeover of Yellow-throated Scrubwren nests ( I live
on the egde of rainforest) unsuccessfully. Not seen or heard of them
commandeering a Brown Thornbills nest. Anybody heard of this or got any comments

Many thanks
Bob Ashford
