Hi Peter,

It is funny that you should ask this today!

Ruth and I saw one just outside Daylesford on Saturday.

You need to find a moist part of the forest (they prefer rainforest) - we
saw it at Twin Bridges picnic ground (a couple of km outside of Daylesford).
We'd been seeing and hearing White-throated all day, and weren't
particularly looking for Red-browed, but one flew in to the picnic ground as
we were about to hop in the car and leave. Be careful, because the
Red-throated also have white throats! To make matters worse, the
White-throated can also have a little red on their faces! However, when you
see a Red-browed, there is no mistaking it - they're also a little smaller
than the White-throated.

As with other treecreepers, they are responsive to playback, although we
didn't use it on this occasion.

Hope this helps!

HI All,

I'm after the most reliable westerly site for Red-browed Treecreeper in
Victoria.

I've heard of sightings in Daylesford. Can anyone suggest a reliable site
in the Daylesford area. What is the best time/season to see them here?

Any help appreciated.

Peter
