Scientists find new evidence of pelicans' longdistance breeding

G'day All

There is one record of Australian Pelicans attempting to breed in the  
Solomon Islands.  It was in 1952 on Santa Anna and was reported in:
Cain, A.J. & I.C.J. Galbraith.  1956.  Field notes on birds of the  
eastern Solomon Islands.  Ibis 98: 100-134, 262-295.
They fly to parts of New Guinea regularly.
