Hi Sean/Jeff
Thanks for that feedback and have asked friend to get pics of this single
bird if possible. Apparently it has gone from garden now without photos
being taken and so can only hope it appears again. I will mention juvenile
Crescent H/E possibility to him and get back to you with response.
Cheers
CB

Cresent HE has been recorded at Mystic Park by Tom Lowe a few decades back,
so they are capable of traveling long distances across what might be
considered unlikely habitat for the species.
Cheers Jeff.

Hi Chris,
Has your friend ruled out the possibility of a young Crescent Honeyeater?
About a decade ago there was a claim of Brown Honeyeater in South Western
Victoria. I was down that way and checked it out and came across juvenile
Crescents which I must admit I did think looked surprisingly similar to
Brown.
While one wouldn't expect Crescent or Brown Honeyeater in the Riverland, but
Crescents are found closer than Browns and they do demonstrate some winter
movement, so they would be more likely, but as we've seen a lot lately,
birds can turn up anywhere.
