John,

I'm no GUN birder, but I have my accomplished moments.

Brush Bronzewing and Lewin's Rail are my two big bogey birds. It's embarrassing
to admit I've been birding in Sydney for about twenty years and I've not seen
either!

Hi all,
In a recent email correspondence, mention was made of a birder's most
embarrassing omission from their life list.

I have MANY I could choose from, such as Tree Sparrow, Red-whiskered
Bulbul, etc. etc. etc.

However, possibly my biggest 'bogey-bird' (though not necessarily
"embarrassing") is Owlet Nightjar.

I wonder if some other 'gun-birders' would be bold enough to share
some of their most embarrassing omissions, or biggest bogeys?

John Tongue
Ulverstone, Tas.
