I can remember holidaying with the family during the early 70's in
Surfers Paradise (SE Queensland) and seeing and especially hearing lots
of Rainbow Lorikeets flying everywhere and even finding them at a nest
hollow near the grand parents house. Don't remember ever seeing or
hearing them in the Newcastle area at that time. They may have been here
but I assume only in small numbers.
