Yes, I've been responsible for some shockers. I once referred to a
'Scrawny-Dogmouth' to my wife, who, familiar with the Tawny, had never
heard of this amazing new species and was quite keen to see it.

And I blame Graham for this one, as I've referred to
Pee-Wees/Magpie-Larks as Pied Crakes on a number of occasions, and
Willy-Wag-Crakes, both for birds wandering around on the fringes of a
wetland.
