Gooday birders
Received a copy of the new Christidis and Boles recently. Noticed that
like the 94 model there is no subspecies listed. Subspecies are
apparently listed in Schodde and Mason, of which I do not have a copy,
plus a number of the Australian field guides including Pizzey & Knight,
Morcombe and Simpson & Day. Also note that both Clements (2007) and
Howard & Moore (2003) lists subspecies. So, where is an official
Australian list of Australian subspecies found, other than in the now
outdated S&M, and who compiles and maintains it. Why does not C&B list
subspecies, anyone know?
