Hi everyone
Thanks for the input!
Private responses were received also - all
appreciated. It was quite an education and that's what
I like. Especially if someone takes the time to
mention defining features of a bird or explain their
choice. Sometimes this is the only way I learn when my
field guides confuse me!
Whilst reading the various responses I also looked at
a couple other shots I had taken of the Owl (had a
couple looking straight down at me but were darker
images). There is definitely a white "V" shape above
the eyes and this appears to form "goggles".
Happy to go with the Southern Boobook and delighted to
add this new bird/photo to my "collection".
regards
Cheryl
