I have spoken with Denise about this and have assured her that the
Kununurra, Turkey Creek, Halls Creek, Fitzroy Crossing , Willare Bridge
route to Broome is all very good bitumen driving. She is not intending
to do the Gibb River Road but even if she was the rivers would most
likely be easily crossed by 4x4 at that time of year, ie, July.

Tony.

Denise

I drove by myself, in a short wheel base Toyota Landcruiser, along the
rode from Broome, via Derby, Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek and Wyndham
to Kununurra in May 1980. I think it was dirt from FC to HC but had no
troubles. Unfortunately I did not stop much and therefore missed a great
opportunity for bird watching. Don't know what the Gibb River Road
through the Kimberleys is like.

Friends of mine wish to drive from Broome to Kununurra in a campervan in
July. Do any birding Aussers know this road? Denise
