I've just returned from a pleasant family holiday in Coffs Harbour (pleasant except for being rained out at the end of the week). I was on the look out for Forest Ravens, but could hardly have missed them. They seem to rule the roost in CH, certainly, I didn't see a single Australian Raven there! Could anyone confirm this observation: in Tasmania I observed that Forest Ravens were common in urban areas and Magpies and Currawongs were not common in those urban areas. Likewise in CH it seemed that the FRs excluded Magpies and Pied Currawongs, which seemed few and far between, compared to, say, the NSW south coast. -- John Leonard Canberra Australia www.jleonard.net =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
