The Channelled billed cuckoos in our area lay eggs in Crows nests, and
appear to have been doing so for many years now, according to neighbours.
The year before last, the Local crow family raised a pair of them.

This year there is a juvenille Chanelled bill cuckoo in the area and it
seems to be `associating' with the local crow family and their new 3 babies.
By `associating', I mean I've seen it roosting with one of juvenile crows
and it seems to loosely follow them around, but I do not know if there is a
relationship there, or if the crow juvenile was just checking it out?

Its all got me thinking, do these cuckoos think think they are crows? And
does it hurt their feelings when their family chases them off? I wonder what
its like for them, being a cuckoo?
