Tracey,

The best Field Guide for Europe (including Britain) is:
Birds of Europe by Killian Mullarney, Lars Svensson, Dan Zetterstrom, and Peter
J. Grant (Princeton University Press - US-american version)
Bird Guide: The Most Complete Guide to the Birds of Britain and Europe by Lars
Svensson, Peter J. Grant, Killian Mullarney, and Dan Zetterstrom (Collins -
British version)
Note: Both books are identical (just from different publishers)

Hi all,
I'm planning a four week trip to England in May 2008, mostly in London and
Kent, with a short trip to Cornwall. We will have a few days to spend on
birding. Could anyone recommend a decent field guide please? I have one from
my last trip but it's layout is a bit confusing. Any other information of
good spots or what to look out for in May/June would be much appreciated.
Replies welcome either on or off list.
Thanks in advance.

Tracey Newcombe, Tomerong, NSW
