This afternoon, in endless drenching rain, two Channel-bill Cuckoos joined two male Koels in the gum trees backing my garden. What drew my attention to their very quiet entry was loud caws from a Little Raven that must have followed them in; then the Magpies flew in and attacked and the cuckoos flew off.

The visible Koel just sat there, unmolested, looking very wet and miserable. Yesterday two male Koels were sitting in full view in the mulberry tree and didn't move when I came out on the deck and photographed them.
