Hi all

A brief visit to the park just before sunset yesterday 28 Oct. Numbers
of roosting Hardhead continue to be high with over 200 on the main pond.
2 Grey Teal also here. Several pairs of Black Ducks and 3 pairs of Black
Swans with duckings/cygnets. Also here a Darter seen on a nest amongst
breeding Little Pied Cormorants - may well be regular park breeders but
haven't personally observed them nesting here before. Several Little
Pieds have chicks in the nest. 3-4 Clamorous Reed Warblers were calling
in this area. Corella numbers seem to be down at present with only 4
Little Corellas observed, as per previous couple of visits. 2 pairs of
Channel-billed Cuckoos seen.

I still have not recently caught up with the Tawny Frogmouths which are
apparently seen around Lachlan Swamp. If anyone out there is familiar
with their regular haunts pls email me. Also havent seen Greenfinch in
the park recently and wonder if anyone out there has and if there are
other regular spots for this species in Sydney (recall seeing them at
Rookwood many years ago...).

Eric
