Dramamine for me. Taken the night before - makes me unbelievably sleepy for the first hour or two, and drowsy on and off for the rest of the day. But worth it 100 times over to be able to look for birds instead of for a clear meter of gunwale to lean over ...

Makes me wonder, though ... when will ASADA / BOCA / BARC decide to get tough on drug-cheats????

Can't you just picture it - being drug-tested at the end of a long pelagic? Any birder with proscribed substances being banned form pelagics for two years - or worse still, not being allowed to count that day's ticks!!!

Russell (who really should go on another pelagic soon)

G'day all

I was as sick as it is possible to be on my first trip (mid 1980's) orut from Portland. Vic. Since then I have a system that involves Travacalm pills. One about 90 mins before departure, one as you get onto the boat and one at 1000. Makes your food taste a bit off and can make you drowsy
but many trips later I've never been sick again.

Oh, when Travacalm was unavailable for a while I tried Quells and they
worked for me as well.

Cheers
