Dear Birders,
The most interesting recent reference on Albatross taxonomy is the ACAP report
from 2006. This report is from the taxonomy working group chaired by
Australia's Dr Mike Double. It provides clear enunciation of the principles
used by the group to reach its conclusion. It is the ACAP taxonomy (including
the deliberations in this report) that is followed in the 8th edition of Pizzey
and Knight - which seems like an excellent idea. This reference can be viewed
simply and in non-HTML format.
