I have been away so do not know if this has been reported but I read it in
an Indian paper.
Since the eradication of cats and rats that controlled the mouse population
on the island, I think Macquarie, the mouse population has exploded and
they are hungary enough to nibble on young birds. They eventually chew off
feathers and into the flesh killing birds as large as the wandering
albatross by 10 or more bold mice attacking one bird.
Solve one problem only to create another.
