Hi all,

The Victorian Environment Assessment Council has released a draft proposals
paper on River Red Gum Forests (Victoria) for public comment. Copies can be
downloaded from the veac web site or obtained from DPI/DSE offices in the
region.

A number of national parks, regional parks and other parks are proposed,
including a national park covering virtually all of Barmah Forest, another
covering much of Gunbower Island and a very long riverside park stretching
much of the way from Wodonga to the Sunraysia.

Kanyapella Forest, near Echuca, is proposed to be part of a Lower Goulburn
River National Park.

Extensions are proposed to several existing parks, including Terrick
Terrick (Patho Plain indigenous grasslands), Hattah-Kulkuyne,
Mallee-Sunset, Mt Buffalo (very small additional area) and Warby Range.
