You may see the odd Buff-banded Rail and Pheasant Coucal in the Spectacle Garden, and there are sometimes Bush Thickknees in the nearby Wickham Park close to the traffic lights at the intersection of Wickham and Albert. Brown Honeyeaters are reasonably common.

Round the water, you will see Aus Reed Warblers and the usual waterfowl. There are likely to be Figbirds in the figtrees, as well as Pied Currawongs. There is at least one family of Superb Fairy Wrens about the cliffs, and usually a flock of Martins flying overhead. Otherwise, Noisy Miners, Aus Magpies, Pied Butcherbirds, Crested Pigeons & Rock Pigeons.

Regards, Laurie.

Hi
I'm in Brisbane late July on business with one overnight . I'm in a hotel right in the city and wondered about the Roma Gardens for a couple of hours in the morning. Any advice please.

Hi Mike and All,

I would have replied to your email but it was one of the very many that I have not been getting for the last week or so. I just thought no-one was out there birding!

Please fix, Russell.

Cheers
