Fiona,
Better than a plastic bag & lighter & easier to carry than a shooting stick is a square of closed cell foam cut from a sleeping mat.
It is popular among those that bushwalk in cool wet climes.

Thank you to all the people who responded to my query. Unfortunately I am finding the same problem. I followed up a lead that I was given for a firm in WA but they did not even respond to my email. I think I will just have to take a plastic bag with me and ssit on the ground!!

Cheers,

Fiona

Hi Fiona,

I believe these are an item no longer available. A birding friend here who
has/had one
I am sure said that he could not get them - The current problem i.e.
Insurance Problem
If the seat collapses an awful injury may occur!

I could be wrong.

I was wondering if any of you know where I could purchase a collapsible (for packing) walking stick that can open as a seat - similar to the old Birtish shooting stick. I am going to Bhutan in a fortnight and feel that this
would be very useful. TIA Fiona
