Good afternoon all, Sometimes you can look for a bird in a particular area for years without success. And then... For about 17 years, an Echuca district birder, Dallas, has been a frequent visitor to Kanyapella Forest Reserve (northern Victoria) which is near his dairy farm. For 17 years, he's kept an eye out for Bush Stone Curlews without success knowing that an adjoining farmer has often claimed to have some on his leasehold. This morning, 22nd April, an excited Dallas rang to report that he and his wife Jude had, during their regular morning walk, just observed four adult Bush Stone Curlews in a Black Box section of the forest. 200 metres away was a fox.
