Superb Blue Wrens - nocturnal hunting?

we had variegated wrens repeatedly flying into window near where they had
nested in the past(don't know if htey were nesting there at the time).  This
was during the day, no insect prey available to them there-it appeared to be
behaviour similar to murray magpie on car side backing mirrors- in other
words trying to drive off their reflections.

They hit hte window quite hard, but sustained no damage
