Sorry to extend this but is vital for birds and much else.
 I agree with Andrew Taylor that the Govt. move to help stop forest 
destruction overseas should be applauded.
 But only as a small contribution of $40m per annum (for 5 years) which is 
tiny relative to the overall economy and the real issues.  The Australian

http://www.businessroundtable.com.au/ reckons that cutting our emissions to 
60% of the 2000 level by 2050 will reduce GDP growth by about 0.1%,  a 
"cost" of about $100 billion.  Delaying action could cost $300 billion more!
 A recent American report says the biota of tropical islands and areas will 
be
gravely affected because it is adapted to a small temperature range which
will be breached by an increasingly active climate.
To tackle that involves serious action - not window dressing.
 Will it really hurt? Australia has increased its emissions by 40% since 
1990.
