Another thing to consider is which way the focussing wheel turns. When my
Zeiss 8x30s were stolen, in transit to a repairer, the insurance company
replaced them with a pair of Vixen Apex Pro 8x32s. These are waterproof,
rugged and I find them excellent. Only problem was that the focussing worked
the other way around when compared to every other pair I've used; i.e. to
focus closer one moves the wheel clockwise. It has taken me ages to adjust
to this, frequently missing the bird because I was turning the knob the
wrong way.
