Hi all,

My thoughts on the roost choice in Brisbane of the Rainbow Lorikeets is that
the brightly lit sites probably mean they can stay at their feeding sites
til much later, as they know they'll have a well lit roost to settle into
after dark. This must extend the amount of time they can stay out feeding
by quite a bit.

The next question would be has anyone observed large communal roosts in the
wild before? The roosts in Brisbane at the shopping centers contain many
thousands of birds, which surely doesn't happen in non-urban environments?

Regards,
Chris
