Hi, Whilst at Eastern Beach (Geelong, Vic) on Saturday on a boat i saw a Jaeger species it was too slim to be a Pomarine. It was totally dark brown, casing a crested tern, it was slightly bigger in appearance and significantly more bulky around the chest and in the width of the wings. No tail streamer was present, it had a wedge shaped tail, a small dark bill. A little surprised to see it inside the Bay, although the wind would have helped things along. Also saw thousands of short tailed shearwaters flying east past Cape Schanck on sunday along with 6 shy albatross. regards Nathan Waugh Melbourne =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
