Fair enough. I assumed that because they refer to other pairs (e.g.
wing, flank, ear patch) in the singular that everything on the diagrams
is singular. Also, the text in Wikipedia says "The region between the
eye and bill on the side of a bird's head is called the lores." Even
more confusing.
