Hi All
Robert D and I went to Moggill State Forest (30 mins NW of Brisbane CBD)
Saturday morning. Among the ?nice? usual birds ? Large-billed
Scrub-wren, Wonga Pigeon, Bar-shouldered Dove, Black-faced Monarch
(imms), Little Shrike-thrush and Leaden Flycatcher ? we had Horsfield?s
(2), Shining-bronze (2) and Fan-tailed Cuckoo (1). We also had the
pleasure of the company of a family party (4) of Bazas, at times very
close overhead. Great views of them crashing into trees and catching
grasshoppers although successful photos remained difficult! This is also
an exceptional place for butterflies after 9.30 when they?ve warmed up!
Sunday - I went for a short walk to Araucaria Walk in Brisbane Forest
Park (30 mins N Brisbane CBD) and had good views of both Common
Bronzewing and Painted Buttonquail on the track.
Cheers
Colin
