Hi all, Bill here

Riding in to work along the Yarra bike path this morning I noticed a quail,
which I was able to watch for a short time in some rough grass before it flew
off to hide in some rushes. It was (I think) a stubble quail, which is a tick
for me.

My issue is that it may have been an aviary escape (yeah, I know, it wasn't a
cockatiel!). Does anyone know if a stubble quail is likely to be seen here?
It was on the north bank of the Yarra, just at the end of the Monash freeway,
which is very close to the CBD. The spot is right on the opposite bank to the
Melbourne Botanical Gardens.
