Collared Sparrowhawk - specific name

 Hello Hugo,
 
 It looks as though this is one of those plays that will 'run and run'...
 Ferguson-Lees and Christie in 'Raptors of the World' use Accipiter 
cirrhocephalus, while 'Handbook of Birds of the World' (del Hoyo et al) uses 
Accipiter cirrocephalus, and under 'Taxonomy.' includes the statement 
'Emendation of original spelling to cirrhocephalus is not justified.'
 I hate it when the English name appears more stable than the scientific 
one...:-)

 Can anyone tell me the 'correct' , or possibly the 'currently consensually 
accepted' , specific name for the Collared Sparrowhawk? Both HANZAB 2 and 
Christidis & Boles have 'cirrhocephalus' while many others, including the 
Sibley & Monroe checklist, have 'cirrocephalus'. Is one of these more 'correct' 
than the other? Is one just a viral typo? Clarification of why there are two 
widespread spellings would be welcome.
