Dear All,
For those who might be contemplating a trip to Asia, I recommend checking out Tiger Airways. The are a discount carrier part owned by Singapore Airlines who fly out of Darwin to Singapore and quite a few SE Asian destinations. I have just run a couple of dummy bookings for dates in April-May-June '07 for a trip I am planning. I was completely gob-smacked by the prices I was quoted - from as low as AUD9.99 each way! Even paying for a fare to Darwin from Sydney the return fare still only came to under AUD420. I think I know how I will be getting to SE Asia next year if I can't redeem my frequent flyer points.
Might even move to Darwin.
Cheers,
Carl Clifford
