There is a website on this topic: http://www.bmad.com.au/
Including a detailed assessment of the literature:
http://www.bmad.com.au/LiteratureReview.pdf

There is a report of a removal experiment here:
http://www.zoo.latrobe.edu.au/Staff/mfc/PDFs%20of%20papers/Removal%20of%20BM.pdf
and several other papers on Miners linked to:
http://www.zoo.latrobe.edu.au/Staff/mfc/

I'm a little surprised DEC is allowing Bell Miners to be culled, when
its uncertain it'll have benefits - unless this removal is part of a
systematic effort to gain more data (not mentioned in the SMH piece).
