Hi again,

We did finally find the third nest of the Western Gerygone and this one might produce young. The adults are currently feeding young (and taking away waste) and I believe that fledging is imminent.

The Crested Pigeon young are small replicas and about half the size of the adult.

The Collared Sparrowhawk downy chick/s were visible in the nest for the first time this morning.

Juvenile Red-browed Finch and Superb Fairy-wren abound and a fledgling Galah, unable to fly yet, turned up in the garden this morning.

Very few Rainbow Bee-eaters have been seen but a few, high flyers, maybe about six in total, have been heard so it again appears to be a poor year for them. The second Sacred Kingfisher sighting for the year occurred this morning.

Purple-crowned Lorikeets were in the leucoxylon (which produced lots of blossom but attracted few birds) today but the Regent and Scarlet H/Es of last year have not been seen.

Barry
