Hi all,

What a race!

Please see below the preliminary results for the Birds Australia 2006 Victorian
Twitchathon. (National Twitchathon results to follow.) In the end we had 9
teams participating in Victoria. The 24 hr race was decided by just 3 birds!

Very big congratulations to the Bush Turkeys (not) and Robin Rednecks for
successfully winning the 24 and 8 hour races respectfully.

The best bird competition is yet to be finalised: although I reckon Bush
Stone-Curlew is the bird to place your bets on. Worst dip seems to be a tight
race: Emu at Wyperfeld, Wedgie in the north, or Nankeen Kestrel in the south.

Well done to everyone who participated in this remarkable sporting event.

All sponsorship will be directed towards the Birds Australia Victoria Research
Award, an award of excellence for ornithology research.

What a race!
