How the scarce resources are allocated to conservation is a constant
problem. Do we spend money on saving a sub species eg the Kangaroo Island
Glossy Black Cockatoo, or do we direct that money to the Orange-bellied
Parrot?
Unfortunately increasing the number of 'at-risk' species by elevating sub species to species will not lead to an increase in conservation dollars. And who ever said Australian society was serious about conservation? Graham Turner |
