Nathan Waugh and I spent the majority of Tuesday visiting some local sites in
the Shoalhaven Local Government Area.

Our route was from Berry to Nowra (Bomaderry Creek, Nowra Sewage Treatment
Works, Ben's Walk and Nowra Hill) to Point Perpendicular and Green Point at
Jervis Bay, and finishing at Comerong Island.

A total of 125 species were recorded during the 8 hour period with a couple of
locally uncommon species being observed. These included:

Brown Songlark - 1 observed calling at the start of the road to the Nowra STW.

Square-tailed Kite - 1 hunting over a forest patch along Gannet Road near HMAS
Albatross

Other interesting species included Wandering type Albatross, Whimbrel, Pallid
Cuckoo, Southern Emu-wren, Rockwarbler, White-throated Gerygone, Tawny-crowned
Honeyeater, Scarlet Honeyeater, Cicadabird and White-winged Chough.

Cheers,

Nigel
