Hi All,

The recent water summit has produced comments about potential
privatisation of water treatment plants.

This rang alarm bells in my mind about all sorts of issues for bird and
birdwatchers including; reduced levels of water in ponds and  wetlands;
reduced outflow to the sea; and further limits on public access.

Is this a serious risk that birdwatcher's should be pro-active about? And
can anyone tell me if any water treatment plants are covered under RAMSAR
or other protective legislation?

Regards,

Peter
